Jatimulyo Village, Girimulyo District, Kulon Progo Regency is predicted to continue an increase due to the construction of the NYIA (New Yogyakarta International Airport), toll road project planning and the area has natural tourist destinations, so it has the potential to use space for residential areas. The development of residential areas in Jatimulyo Village currently does not have a development plan based on geological studies from the aspect of geological sources and geological hazards. The purpose of the study is to determine the parameters that influence the geological zoning of regional development for residential areas based on geological sources and potential for
geological disasters. The supporting data for the research are primary data and secondary data. Primary data includes data taken from the field such as lithology type, rock hardness, shrinkage rate, TDS value, groundwater table depth, and soil type. Secondary collected form of slope and mass movement susceptibility adjusted to field
conditions. There are 6 parameters used, namely mass movement susceptibility, slope, rock hardness, swelling–shrinkage of soil, TDS value and depth of ground water table. These parameters can be divided into several sub–parameters which are analyzed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and get the score for each parameter and then overlaying. The land capability category is determined based on the interval of the highest score and the lowest score then based on the number of categories desired. The results of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis are mass movement susceptibility (30%), slope (23%), rock hardness (16%), soil swelling–shrinkage (13%), face depth groundwater (10%), TDS (7%). Determining the sub–parameters is divided into three classes, namely very capable, capable and unable. The results of the overlay to produce a zoning map of the land capability of the residential area. Jatimulyo Village is divided into three zones of land capability for the development of residential areas, namely the very capable zone (35%), the capable zone (45%) and the poor zone (20%).
